But first, some words about a very special event that needs your help…
Volunteers Needed for Beach Gala Events on June 2, 2012, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Receive undying love and affection by volunteering to assist with the children’s activities. List of activities are: chalk art, stone piling, fish prints, rock painting, mermaid beach cottages, shell craft, scavenger hunt, and face painting. If you would like to help with any of these activities for a couple of hours, please contact HAN art coordinator Linda Gebhart at johnlgebhart@aol.com.
Greetings~
I have some exciting news to share with you. HAN is partnering with the Hampton Historical Society to present an all-day arts and history event at Hampton Beach on June 2 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The Hampton Beach Area Commission is sponsoring a gala celebration commemorating the opening of the new facilities at the beach and the arts events are a major part of it.
Special tents will be set up to display art work and historical items as well as host craft demonstrators, mural painting on location, and book signings and readings by local authors. The well-known writer and artist Will Moses will also be on hand to sign his books. There will be kite flying demonstrations by KONE (Kites over New England) and children and adult interactive activities, including chalk art. It is truly shaping up to be an outstanding event with the backdrop of the newly constructed pavilion. Please mark your calendar and start praying for good weather on that weekend.
On Saturday, April 28, HAN held a successful annual membership drive, Mix, Mingle and Share, in the Hampton Beach South Pavilion Conference Center. There was a large turnout, with many new faces and new members. The members elected a slate of nine new board members for 2012. We heartily welcome the new board members and look forward to a productive 2012 for arts in Hampton. Karen Raynes, our membership director has done it again – an outstanding job in organizing this amazing event.
This will probably be my last message as the President of HAN as the new board will elect new officers to carry on the official functions of the board. It has been a privilege and honor to have served as the President of HAN in 2011; however, I look forward to staying active as a board member in 2012.
