Greetings HAN Members and Sponsors -
Winter season in Hampton so far has been fairly mild, and it is almost half over. We in HAN are busy planning for what we hope will be an eventful year for our artists as they go about creating and displaying their talents around Hampton.
The HAN 2012 Artwalk committee has been formed at the initiative of Pamela French Barber, and its first meeting was held at 6:00 p.m. February 1 in the Lane library meeting room. The committee is planning and executing our signature event this year. Even if you didn’t make the meeting, here is a great opportunity for all members to get in on the ground floor of this event. Please contact Pam to be part of it, pfrenchbarber@yahoo.com.
A nominating committee has also been formed to bring forward the names of candidates for filling the nine-member board of HAN. A new board is scheduled to be elected by the membership at the annual meeting to be held in April. More information on that event will be forthcoming in the next several weeks.
The board has made a few changes to the bylaws, such as changing the number of board members from 7 to 9. You can download a copy under the “All Things HAN/Contact Us” link.
Finally, to date we have 91 members in our organization! Since our membership is renewable annually, we urge you all to send in your renewal subscriptions through our membership director, Karen Raynes, hanmembership@gmail.com. Membership dues, still only $10/year for artists and patrons, and $50/year for sponsors, help cover the costs of HAN-sponsored activities.
Art Gopalan, HAN President
