GALLERY SPACE AVAILABLE AT THE LANE MEMORIAL LIBRARY
During June and July the Lane Memorial Library will be seeking to host the works of Hampton area artists in our newly refurbished Weston Gallery, which shares space with the downstairs community meeting room. In June we will be accepting submissions within the theme of “Portraits,” while July will be devoted to “Landscapes.”
Both themes are intended to encompass a broad range of subjects and styles. Portraits may be in any medium, and subjects may range from formal poses to street photography to pets. Likewise, landscapes may range from photo realistic to abstract, and cover scenic views, buildings and structures, and natural forms. The library will provide a notebook in the Gallery with a biography and statement from each artist, as well as pages reserved for comments and contact information from those who visit the exhibit. Anyone from the Hampton community may apply, but due to space and size restrictions, the library reserves the right to make a final choice of images on display.
Works must be appropriately sized and framed, with a wire or loop mount that is compatible with our gallery hanging system.
To apply, please email a description of your work along with no more than three (3) 800 px JPG images to deifert@hampton.lib.nh.us. The deadline for the Portraits exhibit is Thursday, May 24th, and Friday, June 22nd for the Landscapes exhibit. Artists will be invited to assist in hanging their works on the first day of each month.
Please contact Darrell Eifert at the Lane Memorial Library, (603) 926-3368 for further information.
PAINT AT THE PARKS – New Hampshire residents 65 or older can park free at the Hampton Beach State Park, near the Hampton River draw bridge, as long as they are driving a car registered in their name. Also, anyone with a Hampton resident parking sticker can park free at the Church Street lot on Hampton Beach and at Bicentennial Park at the end of High Street. So come on down, park for free, and make some art!
